At first thought, it may occur to you that they are totally opposite things. In blogging, we simply create content to catch traffic through search engines and then we monetize this traffic with different kinds of advertisements. On the other hand, selling ebooks means that you are not giving any content for free and you are selling. In past, I had the same notion but now, I can see that sometimes they can complement each other.

Suppose, you have written an ebook and then you want to sell it. How can you inform others about it? If you have a popular blog then surely, it becomes very easy to promote the ebook. For example, this blog, I have just 5-6 visitors per day but in my South Asia Blog, last month, 75,000+ visits took place according to Sitemeter. So, if I put advertisement of an ebook then naturally more people will notice. Secondly, if you are an expert blog in a niche then it becomes easy for you to sell ebooks on that field.
