Another Recession will be Catastrophic for Many Bloggers

Unfortunately, experts in the US are talking these days about double-dip recession. The recession that started in 2008 has not fully gone yet. A new recession will make matters worse for many people including Bloggers.
The recession that started in 2008 had very bad impact on blogs. Some blog networks were forced to layoff Bloggers or decrease the salary substantially. They stopped hiring new Bloggers. Many individual Bloggers saw their income decreasing.
The thing that affected me most was that I saw decrease in epcm (earning per 1000 page views). In the last 3 months, my blogs had 1.5 million page views but income was that much like past.
In other words, my blogs had half million page views each month for the last 3 months and if I had got it in 2007 or early months of 2008 then it would have really made me rich. Now, it is just bringing enough money to survive in a decent way.
So, another recession will only make matters worse for Bloggers like me. Well, I guess that the recession will not come this year because Obama Administration will try to prevent it. However, if they cannot become successful then things will get worse for the entire world.

I am a big fan of Darren Rowse who is popularly known as ProBlogger. He has built a brand name for himself very successfully and he has been in the Blogging business for quite some time. When I started a Blogging four years ago then I used to read his website and I can tell you that it is very helpful. He has published a book and the book became popular and just two days ago, Darren Rowse announced that the second edition of the book was coming out.
If you are interested about Blogging and earning money online then this book can be a very helpful resource for you. I’m unlucky because I live in a country in which this book is not available and there is no way that I can even order this book by online because there is no scope for me in my country to buy anything through Internet. But I’m sure that most of you do not have the misfortune liked me and you should be able to buy the book very easily. There is no doubt that it is a must read for anyone who wants to earn money by Blogging.
Darren Rowse has nothing special about him except that he’s a very hardworking person. I envy and admire his discipline and courage. I hope that someday I can be a successful blogger like him.

How much money do I need to open a blog?

This is the common question that is asked by many people. The answer is that it depends on you. If you want you can start a blog free of cost. If you want you can pay some money. If you want to have a free blog then just go to blogspot.com or wordpress.com and you can sign up for a free blog. Then you will not have a domain but a sub-domain. On the other hand, if you want to have your own domain name and your own hosting then you can go for a self hosted WordPress blog. You can also go for blogger hosting of custom domain.
I have been using both of them and I like Google hosting or blogger hosting because it gives a lot of facility and is free. Or you have to pay is for the domain name only.
On the other hand, WordPress is excellent and it has many good features but it is expensive. There are some other options too if you are ready to pay money. However, if you are now worrying to pay money but to earn money then free version of the blogspot is the best.
So, now you know the answer of the question that how much money you need for opening a blog. This is the good part of internet that companies like Google are giving you almost everything at free of cost. All you need to do is put up some content and put some advertisements and then you can share with Google or companies.

How Much money have you earned from Blogging on January 2010?

It is the last day of January 2010 and it is perhaps the time to take a look at your monthly revenue from your blog or blogs. If you are a professional blogger and revenue from it forms your part time or full time income then you surely check the earning stats almost every day. So, how was the month? Well, I know that the global economy is still not out of the recession completely and perhaps it will take another few months to increase the income.

As for me, January was not a good month for traffic or revenue. I myself was sick for the last 7 months and could not work that well this month. So, from tomorrow, I am going to start working full time with a happy and fresh mind.

Nomadic Matt: A Fine Example of Blogging Success

He traveled widely in different courtiers and he has many pictures and memories that may become handy for anyone who wishes to travel those countries. The blog is called Nomadic Matt and it now brings very healthy income for Matt. Of course, it did not happen so easily.

In an interview with New York Times he said:

In the beginning, I was putting every waking moment into the blog. Realistically, you’ve got to be willing to spend all your time for the first six or seven months pushing your Web site. Now I can spend 15 hours a week doing this and get away with it. I usually put in more time, because I run multiple Web sites, but I can coast by on 15 hours a week and the rest will take care of itself. Now that I have my intern, I can probably coast by on 10 hours a week, maybe even less.

I am happy with the success of Matt. He deserves it and I hope that I can be like him someday: a very successful blogger.
