Do you know what is obesity? It is a king of becoming fat or gaining too much weight. I wrote a month ago that bloggers should look after their weight. Actually, at that time, my weight reached to dangerous level and my BMI index reached to 32.8 and it was 7 weeks ago. Hopefully, in the next 2-3 days, I will be out of the obesity level and I will go back to overweight category. Blogging is perhaps the main villain behind such extreme condition. Well, my food habit was always bad and I was always fond of junk food and unhealthy lifestyle. For many years, I do not do any exercise or physical activity.
Thus, it is natural that I started to suffer from obesity. Believe me, it is not enjoyable condition. I started to suffer too much. Even climbing stairs became a nightmare for me. Then, 6 weeks ago, I became serious about losing weight and thanks God that I could lose 9 weeks in the last 6 weeks. It was very difficult for me. I stopped eating meat and sugar, chips, any outside food and what not. Well, I would not say that I did any crash diet but decreased the amount of eating food. So, may be it was something like a crash diet. Anyway, the thing that I did was that I changed my eating habit.
In 6 weeks, I ate mutton or beef only 3 times and each time I took a very small amount. I have totally stopped drinking Coca Cola or Pepsi. I was very fond of traditional sweets of my country and I have stopped it too. No burgher, pizza or French Fries. If a curry was not oily and spicy, I could not eat it. Fortunately, I am a big fan of fish and I could replace meat with fish. So, rice, roti, lentil soup, vegetable, fruits and fish became my favorite food items. At first, it was terrible. I thought that I would just starve and decrease some pounds rapidly and then go back to my bad style of eating food. However, after 6 weeks of eating healthy food items, I have started to enjoy them. I have also started to feel better in my health and I don’t want to go back to eating junk foods anymore. Instead, if I want to eat more than I want to eat healthy food items more.
In the past, I thought that being a blogger was the main villain. May be it is. In blogging, you have to sit with your computer of laptop and it is not good for losing weight. I also got totally addicted to junk food after I become a full time professional blogger. So, how did blogging help me to fight against obesity?
This is perhaps the good part of blogging. Since I have to stay at home, I can control myself about what to eat or when to eat, what not to eat or when not to eat. Last 6 weeks, I totally confined myself to home. I did not accept any invitation at all and if anyone came to my home, I explained them about my diet and arranged junk foods for them but I ate healthy items.
Blogging also helped another way. In the last 3 years, I have written many entries in my blogs. So, despite the fact that I posted only 10% entries compared to my normal productivity, yet my traffic did not decrease and income did not decline either. In any other job, it is impossible. In fact, I realized that I can continue this way for another 2-3 months and then come back to full time blogging with a healthy body.
Now, when I am coming back to the starting level of obesity (BMI Index of 30), I feel happy in mind and I am hopeful of getting back to good energy without any coffee or tea.
If you are a blogger then please don’t fall into the same trap like me. I was obsessed wit page views, social book marks, Adsense income and getting linked from other blogs. They are good things but they must not come at the expense of your health.
