A few days ago, I wrote about the Good Side of having a Small Blog Network. Today, I am going to talk about the problems of managing a small blog network.
The last few weeks have been very difficult for me and the network. Our regular blogger for Laptop Blog is out action for the last 6 months and what I understand is that she will not be able to return for another 6 months. Our lead blogger of Sports37 was also out of action for the last 2 months. So, their absence put real pressure on the remaining 3 bloggers and it was times physically and emotionally very tough for me as I have been also suffering from sickness for quite long time.
Fortunately, today, our blogger for Sports37 has come back and we have got a new blogger too. So, things are again back to business as usual.
The most difficult challenge in maintaining a small blog network is controlling the bloggers. What if someone is putting spam content in his/her blog? What if one blogger is willingly or unknowingly doing something that may bring the wrath of Google on the entire network.
Another problem of managing such a network is to find enough people at the time of a major events taking place. For example, this week, Apple is perhaps going to unveil its iSlate Tablet. This is a major event and we want to cover it in our Laptop blog. However, if 3 of us work for it then our other blogs will not be updated regularly this week.
When you have a small blog network then dealing with advertisers is a problem because except Adsense most other major online advertisers are not interested about your websites.
In future, I would like to write about dealing with these challenges.
