So, from now, I want to updates my blog regularly and I hope that again within two or three months I can reach to that level of nearly half million page views per month.

First, I want to talk about news based or buzz topics. For example, tomorrow, in English Premier League, Aston Villa will play against Arsenal. If you are a fan of any of these two clubs then it is a big match for you. In fact, writing about it can bring good traffic for my Sports37 blog tomorrow. However, after tomorrow, this entry will lose any important to anyone.

Also, tomorrow, Apple is going announce its tablet PC and Mehdi Hassan at Laptopcom blog has been writing about it. We are expecting good traffic from this topic and the related entries. Again, after tomorrow, few people would bother about the launching ceremony.

Now, I want to talk about evergreen entries. If I want to write about an evergreen entry about Arsenal or Aston Villa then I can perhaps write about Top Ten players of any of these two clubs. As for the second event, I can write about the history of Tablet PC. You see that these kinds of entries are always relevant.

The good part of evergreen entries is that they are always relevant and they always remain fresh. They can help to increase your followers and Feedburner. They are most likely to bring backlinks from other websites and blogs easily. They also help to increase your credibility as a blogger. The best benefit I can see is that you can write them at you ease and at your normal peace. You don’t need to enter any pressure or stress on your mind to finish them quickly or in a deadline.

There are perhaps two negative parts of an evergreen entry. First of all, it needs a lot of time and patience and efforts to write an evergreen entry. Secondly, they will not generate hug traffic in a single day or week. They will bring you some traffic regularly but not a lot in short time.

1. Planning: Writing an evergreen entry needs some planning and revision. For example, at first, I thought of the title for this entry as: How to write an Evergreen Blog Entry?

Then, I felt that this title should be changed. So, if you want to write such an entry, then spend some time for planning. Don’t think that planning is a waste of time. If you can plan well then it can save you some valuable time.

2. Assessment: Try to assess whether you have good knowledge about the topic you want to write. For example, I have four years of blogging experience and then I am writing this entry. If you do not have good knowledge about the topic you want to write then don’t go for it.

3. Timing: Well, I said earlier that you can write evergreen entries anytime you like but timing can be sometimes important too. For example, before Christmas if you write about best Christmas movies then it becomes helpful to many people. If you are write about this topic in January then perhaps some relevance get lost.

4. Research: Give enough time to research about the entry you want to write. Thanks to internet, doing search and research has been easier than the past. Especially, if you have a high speed Internet connection then it is much easier.

5. Focus: Remember one thing that there is a lot of competition about these types of entries. For example, many bloggers have written about this topic: writing an Evergreen Blog Entry. So, I have to remember that if I cannot make this entry better than some of those entries then writing it will be meaningless. Thus, it is important to give your complete focus when writing such an entry.

6. Reading: Yes, read some of the entries written by other bloggers or writers and analyze them. Try to find out the good sides of those entries. Also, look out for any weakness and especially, try to find out if there is any valuable information or view point that others are missing. 7. Feedback: If possible try to get feedback about your entry before publishing it in your website or blog. You don’t need feedback from any expert. Just give it to anyone you can find.

8. Decoration: You can allocate some minutes to find appropriate pictures and/or videos for your entry.

9. Promoting: I have already mentioned that competition is intense in evergreen topics and that is why you have to allocate some time to promote your entries. One good way is to submit in social bookmarking sites. Another is writing emails to website and blog owners related to the topic.

So, what is the secret of Google’s search dominance? I think that the main secret is that the way Google ranks individual websites and content. You see that when Google brings out any search result then it considers a lot of factors. One of the interesting factors is that in addition to analyzing the content of a website or a blog, Google also give a lot of importance to the links that this website gets from other websites or blogs. Thus, the more links that a blog or websites can get from other quality websites or blogs, it gets more importance to Google algorithm. Of course, it is not simple as I am saying but this is the basic philosophy.

I have a number of blogs and some of them have page ranks of four and one of them has page rank six. As a result, I get regular emails of either link exchange or text link advertisements. You see, Google never said that you can not display text link advertisement. What Google saying is that you must inform Google that it is an advertisement with by indicating the text link with a no-follow tag. When you put a no-follow tag then Google understands that and it is an advertisement and they don’t count it as a normal link. Because of this matter, many websites owner are greedy and they do not put quality content and then they target other websites and blogs by giving them money and putting text link advertisement and unfortunately, there are many websites and blog owners who are perhaps equally greedy and they keep it a secret that it is an advertisement not a link to a quality website. This way, the whole issue of quality content is at risk.

I am a blog owner and at a same time I am an internet user too. So, when I search for something in Google, I expect that Google brings out quality result not some low quality blogs or websites content that could get into higher ranking by just spending some few hundred or few thousand dollars and buying some text link advertisements.

So, If I sell text links from by blogs without any no-follow tag then what I am doing is that I am polluting the system and in the end me and my family and friends will have to suffer for it. This is a very simple thing that many website or blog owners do not want to understand. They just want to thing that they should earn some quick money. Unfortunately, I do not support their idea and I think that they should be punished by Google. Even I am happy when I see that Google punishes them because in the end internet has created a lot of opportunities for us. However, if you look at the internet then you will see that most small and medium blog owners like me are dependent on Google search results and Google advertisements and even Google Blogspot or Blogger hosting.

Microsoft or Yahoo do not give anything to us for free. Yes, Microsoft and Yahoo both have their own advertisement programs but you have to be a US citizen. Not only that, they do not give you the scope of opening a free blog like Blogspot and then earn money. In fact, except Google, no one gives you this opportunity. So, in the end, I would like to request all of you to be more thoughtful and stay away from text link ads.

When you are running a blog network, you have to face this kind of tough situations. It is painful for me because I know that both of them would bring traffic for us in this month. However, we don’t have enough bloggers at this moment to cover both of them. Hopefully, things will become better after 15 November when we will have one person finishing his exams.

However, blogging is such a challenging field that it has really destroyed my health and mind. Today, I decided that I would try to get my health back. I was just trying to sleep for some hours and could not. So, I decided to come back to the writing table and write until I feel tired and can sleep.

I am trying now a lot to lose some weight. Fortunately, in the last two weeks, I could lose almost 3 Kilo Gram. Still, I am over weight and a month ago, I noticed that I could not put on any of my trousers and it was like the wake up call for me. I know that it will take several months to get back some normal health. Of course, blogging was not that only factor that made my condition terrible but blogging is the main problem.

Perhaps the biggest problem is that you have to try to give fresh news earlier than others. I always enjoy this competition but this has caused a lot of stress on my nerve. I can handle stress some better than the average people but excess of anything is always bad.

If you are reading it today or tomorrow or after one year, please, try to remember my lesson and don’t make the same mistake. Try to say to yourself that if you are not healthy then you cannot do your passion (blogging) in a good way. This is the thing that has happened to me. I have some excellent ideas now and I have become matured as a blogger. However, since I am physically weak and emotionally exhausted, it often becomes difficult to write some simple entries.

So, if you are a professional blogger then please look after your health.
