(I'm a bit late with my comment here!) It's good to hear that things are more stable for you now... uncertainty is a horrible feeling. I think it's fantastic that you are offering training on better blogging, too. I hope that is going well.

Your internet is so slow! I'd go insane if it was that slow for me.

But it sounds like you're doing better than most in your country.

Interesting post. Sounds like quite a day you have. And the whole payment complication must be pretty annoying and I must honestly tell you with that connection speed I'd go insane.

Freelancer absolutely do suffer from the whole payment "complication" bit regardless of where you're at, but ouch on the connection speed. Up until a few years ago, I lived on dial-up and that was bad.

I find it interesting that even with our faster internet we still suffer the same slow speeds in getting paid for our work. I'm glad things are becoming more stable for you and hopefully your internet service provider will be upgrading their speed soon!

Interesting post. It's always interesting to hear how other people fare in different countries. Myself especially since I've barely left Florida my whole life.

Excellent post.

The prompt payment some companies adhere to isn't followed by all, and it is still an issue with many industries regardless of where people live. I could reel off a list of companies who regularly wait up to two or three months to send off cheques...

I'm surprised at paypal, though I guess they don't chase markets where they aren't going to make much headway. 2-5 kbps? Damn, that is what my old rig used to get back in the early nineties. I really feel for you, I know the pain of a slow connection.

Hopefully you will be lucky with upgrades by the service provider(s) to the lines of communication. Are they planning on doing work to increase capacity, and maybe giving some broadband access?

Oh really! I thought that it was only in poor countries that writers suffer most from not getting paid at the right time.
